MMmmmmmm... just the photo makes my mouth water and my eyes glaze over! My favorite is the Pizza Margherita but if I absolutely have to have some toppings, I would choose jalapenos and garlic. The above photo was taken of the best thin crust pizza I've had - and it was (surprisingly) in the Maldives.
I've been wanting to make pizza at home, but am almost afraid of using yeast (I think yeast is just allergic to my kitchen!), and so making the pizza base was not something I ever wanted to attempt. Well, I found the ready made pizza bases now in French Loaf in Chennai (and a brown bread base too).
Pre-Baking:
I proceeded to make a tomato sauce by blanching the tomatoes, removing the skins and seeds, and then pureeing it. I then mixed it with roasted garlic and a teaspoon of dried mixed herbs. You could just use Maggi Pizza Sauce instead.
I then topped it with grated mozzarella, jalapenos, onions and mushrooms. The toppings were for my husband, who, if he had his way, would've had a meat lovers delight! :)
Post Baking:
I put it in the oven for 10 mts at 250 deg C. It was perfectly done when we took it out and we slurped it up!
If anyone has any great recipes for the tomato sauce, do share!
